Workshops
Business Journalists in Azerbaijan

Entrepreneurship Development Foundation (EDF)

Free courses for Azerbaijani journalists, who cover economic issues, will be held twice weekly in Baku, from December 12, 2000, until March 15, 2001.

The four-hour sessions in the Azerbaijani language will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays in the training class of the Entrepreneurship Development Foundation (EDF).

The workshop is organized by EDF in Azerbaijan, with financial help of the American International Center of Private Enterpreneurship (CIPE).

When classes are concluded, a competition will be held for best investigative reports dealing with the achievements and drawbacks of the economic reforms; the benefits of privatization; what kind of budget would improve the economic situation; and will the new taxes stimulate economic growth.

The winners of the contest will receive four grants, U.S.$500 each, from Internews.
