Job Opening Health Position Program Manager Organisation United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Job Location Azerbaijan Closing Date June 4, 2001 Job Description and Qualifications CARE/UMCOR are currently collecting resumes for a Health Program Manager position to be based in Azerbaijan. Responsibilities - Design and development of a community based health program in the rural regions of Azerbaijan; - Establishment of comprehensive network of local health care providers; - Networking between NGOs, community based organizations and community interest health groups to establish local health boards, health monitoring mechanisms and links with established health care providers; - Building local capacity and understanding of health issues through training and training of trainers; - Integration of community health programs into overall community development building. Requirements - MA/MS degree, preferably in social sciences, health or international relations; - Five to tens years experience with health programs as components of rural community development based programs in developing countries; - Supervisory/management experience of local staff; - Proven experience communicating and negotiating with a diverse range of government, civil society and NGO/CBO officials; - Excellent communication and networking skills; - Computer skills, including extensive experience using Microsoft Word and Excel; - English fluency and Azeri or Russian language skills; - Knowledge of the issues, objectives and activities in the Caucuses region; - A willingness to travel extensively within the regions of rural Azerbaijan; - Experience managing USAID funded projects.
