Child Survival Project Director
Masalli, Azerbaijan

Mercy Corps is dedicated to providing quality development and relief programs around the world and is expanding its health portfolio in Azerbaijan. Mercy Corps is currently seeking a strong health professional with proven experience in implementing/managing USAID funded Child Survival projects to provide oversight and leadership to a newly funded 5 year Child Survival project to be based in Masalli, Azerbaijan.

The professional to be hired will preferably be an MD, with second preference for a Dr PH, Public Health Professional, or Nurse Practitioner (or equivalent) with a strong public health background. Candidates with an MPH will have a priority. Excellent public health technical skills are required, including areas of maternal and newborn care, introduction of IMCI (with an emphasis on household/community aspects), and family planning. Strong abilities in community and local partner development, program planning and management, training, staff training, and supervision a must. The successful candidate will have had experience mentoring a local partner organization.

Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of Child Survival programming experience in a developing country (preferably NIS), at least 4 years relevant international public health experience, and outstanding leadership, writing, and interpersonal skills. Budget development, management experience, and USAID reporting experience a must.

English fluency required, language abilities in Azeri or Russian strongly preferred.
