Central European University (CEU)
CEU welcomes applications from students all over the world who accept its mission and curriculum tuned to that mission. CEU admits students based on academic merit. As a private institution of higher education, CEU follows the Admissions Policy adopted by its Senate. The admissions criteria are set up in accordance with internationally recognized standards and tests. Each applicant is considered on the basis of his/her complete application, admissions test results and interview.
The admissions process lasts approximately five months, and is divided into four stages. Applicants will be notified of their progress after each stage.
For the 2000/2001 academic year, CEU received 5,550 applications from 56 countries. Prospective students should bear in mind that admission to CEU is highly competitive.

For the academic year 2001/2002, CEU is introducing two new programs which are being set up in cooperation with other academic institutions: a two-year Master of Science program in Banking and Finance (MSc in Banking and Finance) developed with the International Training Center for Bankers (ITCB), Hungary, and a new PhD Program in Mathematics developed with the Alfred Renyi Institute of Mathematics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. MA in Culture and Society to be offered by the Department of Sociology, Warsaw, is currently being developed and is subject to approval from the appropriate university bodies.
