Lenin

The artist was often commissioned to do portraits of Soviet leaders such as Lenin shown here. However, it seems that among his favorites portraits that he chose himself to do were literary figures such as the satirist Sabir, playwright Jafar Jabbarli, and the editor of Molla Nasraddin magazine Jalil Mammadguluzade - all distinguished Azerbaijani writers of early 20th century.
