Smithsonian
Folklife Festival
This summer, the Silk Road Project, spearheaded by Yo-Yo Ma,
is co-producing the 2002 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, held
outdoors on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on June 26-30
and July 3-7. The Festival typically draws more than 1 million
visitors each year. Azerbaijan will be featured, although the
specific musicians and artisans have yet to be announced. Admission
